Spiritually how do we address war?
Aug 03, 2025Once more, I wrestle with how to share my perceptions as I watch more bombs drop. I do my best here to root this post in love, inspiration, and truth of oneness amidst a world of seeming chaos. The following words are this attempt, not as ultimate truth, but my simple view. Please receive them as such.
I invite you to consider. These wars we are watching are not being fought on only foreign soil but in a place far more intimate. Inside you and me. The most sacred of all places, our inner sanctuary of being and the surrounding landscape of emotionality.
We are being enticed out of that sanctuary of stillness - to war, not to take up rifles, but to do battle within. This is an ancient strategy.
We are being encouraged to feel fear, rage, and perceived separation and thus, support the external wars by internally being called to war against people that we will never meet and for whom we only have politicians and a system of news to describe to us.
The human family members at the receiving end of these wars are; teachers, fathers, children, students, lovers, academicians, soldiers, mothers, farmers, politicians, architects, artists, dancers. “They” are sold to us as enemies.
These battles are ancient and between powers who play chess with people, land, and resources.
I am not venting nor playing victim. I am proposing that this is our time. Our time to step off the chess board and awaken to our true nature of what we have the capacity to be on this earth and in this cosmos. To let the inner sanctuary be what leads us, not kept as an escape from life but as our very foundation of an unwavering peace and clarity from which to participate and contribute to life.
We must each do this within ourselves, each of us, alone and together, not to “save” the world, but to exercise our power to be a part of humanity awakening – regardless of, or perhaps even pushed by, what is occurring now.
This is a spiritual calling out. Awakening is not an esoteric concept. It is not an emotional "reaction" to life. It is deeply rooted in sages throughout time calling out to us in this moment – to hear truth, to see within ways of oneness, creating new relations among nations, but beginning with the counter person in your local store, with your spouse, children, cohorts, or strangers you meet today.
We are called to shine as awakening members of this species living the deepest truth of connectivity and the one unified heart, today, specifically in these seemingly unique and tough times.
And most importantly, we must have a new relationship with ourselves that supersedes all old and personal stories that have innocently been stealing our energy of life. That energy is needed now for love, truth, and stepping forward with deeper knowing, without shame, on this spinning orb in endless space.
Please don't mistake my thoughts here as proposing that there is no action, no passion, or involvement in life or politics. There may or not be for you. My deeper message is that when it comes from a deep sense of self, it actually holds more power to contribute to transformation and evolution rather than contributing the same energy that we are "against" in the world.
This is real. A time of being called to ground in love, kindness, and be active in the world - or to do this work inwardly and simply add your consciousness to the field. But first and foremost – waking out of the sleep and illusion of separation from each other, nature, and this cosmos.
I speak of waking up to the amazing and unbound beings that we truly are – expressions of the immeasurable and unnameable. We are not meant to perceive ourselves as powerless little specks, but as the presence of boundless life - in form, a human, awake to its essence as infinite consciousness itself.
This awakening cannot be driven by fear of the future but must be from the deep whisper of life saying, “This is exactly why I am here” to know myself and live myself more fully by remembering who I truly am.
I hear the alarm bell going off. Time to wake up. Blessings to all of us. All of us - without a them.
