stuck to its sides, how well would it succeed in finding food and caring for its family while walking or running through the fields and forests? Let’s look at this as a metaphor for how you live. Where in your life are  you living as if your wings are stuck to your side? Where would it be useful to open them and see from a new perspective, a higher vision without obstruction? Do you need clarity to make a decision in your life right now or to take action? The eagle is the bird that can fly closest to the sun. With this gift it can have a very global view of existence. As it opens its wings wide, the wind lifts it higher to see more clearly all of its possibilities. This is what is meant by living with your wings wide open. Being lifted above your old limited views of life.  

To do this, sometimes you must let go of the obstructions that are holding your wings to your side. Let’s jump right in. Tell me something. When I ask you “Who are you?” What types of thoughts come up? I imagine things like, a son, mother, employee, entrpreneur, artist, broke, struggling, happy and more. These things are correct to a degree, but none are ultimately who you are. You see, each of these words are a role you play at times and also what you experience at times. All of which come and go. So that leaves the question, who is it that remains and experiences the coming and going?  Listen to this audio for a direct experience of the you who experiences the events of your life, but is not attached to them as your identity. Thus you are unlimited and free from any one role or experience that comes and goes.

This rare pearl of the cosmos, called earth, needs our attention

right now. It dies, we die. It flourishes, we flourish. Why? Because it is an expression of the one life in all.

In Japan, the Middle East, Africa, the streets of New York or your own home town, there are people who could benefit from your prayers and love. Anything other than love in us is ancient human habit and has brought this species to this precipice of war and self-destruction where we find ourselves today. Simultaneously, the love inherent in the human soul has created unparalleled beauty and human interaction as well. It’s time to tap that infinite resource in all of us.

Please take 60 seconds this very moment and reflect kindly upon those in Japan, those caught in the wars in the Middle East and Africa and those on the streets of your own town without home or shelter.

Doing this is not just for them, it is for your own well being. It is for your own heart opening to this era when love is the only healing balm on the planet. And we are its messengers.

Imagine one morning you awaken. Thoughts of your busy life begin to fill your head. Your eyes slowly open, trying to see through the sleepiness of the morning. You slowly focus on the ceiling, then the wall, then the corner chair.  And there he is, sitting in quietude, in his monks robe, just looking gently in your direction. Then he softly says, "You’re not dreaming. I’m really here." You realize that St. Francis of Assisi is sitting in your home chatting with you. Whether a dream or not, how often do you have this opportunity?

So you settle in. Quietly, he continues, "I realize you have been on a spiritual quest for a long time. How’s it going?" Still trying to grasp that you are talking to a saint from 900 years ago, you reflect upon your life journey and respond, "I’ve had some wonderful moments of profound peace here and there, but I believe there’s something even greater that I will find someday." A gentle and understanding smile crosses the lips of this warm-hearted saint. His eyes radiating a quiet knowingness you have yearned for your entire life.  Softly, he says, "That’s exactly why I’ve dropped by ~ to give you a small hint for this treasure hunt you’re on."  You realize you are about to receive guidance "in person" from one of the greatest sages of history.

Your heart beats a little faster. "Are you ready?" he asks with a playful glimmer in his eyes. You feel a flutter of butterflies in your stomach as his love and care moves your heart. "Yes – very ready", you respond. St Francis pauses a long time, looking at you, the room quiets to an eternal stillness. Time seems to have stopped….There is no future and no past, only now. Then, without fanfare, he says quietly, almost imperceptively, yet with a profound impact as if the words were coming from the source of the Universe itself.

"What you are looking for ~ is what is looking." You pause. Then, just for a moment, your mind stops and becomes acutely aware that what is peering out of your eyes is actually the presence of who you are, unconditioned by your past, unfiltered, just simply aware. The visitor smiles gently as he watches the impact of his simple guidance….And with that soft and timeless smile, you close your eyes for a moment of rest. Upon opening them, you see your new friend has vanished. Or has he? Is it possible that he and his message are placed eternally in your heart?

Perhaps he is right here – as you, the reader, read these words. Perhaps he is inviting you to know, that what you are looking for is actually what is looking at and reading these words in this very moment of your existence. If you are open, this may be what you have been looking for.

“As I mentioned to you during the Sedona Method course, letting go and this type of work has absolutely transformed me.  And because of how it has transformed me, my relationships are transformed.  My relationship with my husband is richer than it ever has been, stronger than it ever has been and I feel a peace I haven’t felt before.  I show up different for him and I no longer automatically go to war (which I used to do even for the minutest things).  I noticed today, that this work has already also impacted my coaching.  My voice seems crisper, more authentic and therefore more powerful.

I approached Manhattan from 20 thousand feet in the plane as we angled toward JFK Airport. I’ve been teaching The Sedona Method for 15 years and as we approached the runway, I had the thought, “Why don’t we just GET it, that we are unlimited?” When the creator of The Sedona Method, Lester Levenson, awoke to the truth of his unlimited nature in 1952, he spoke with others about the same truth for many years, but our mind is too loud to hear anything other than what it wants to believe. For instance, that life is hard work and then we die. I know we don’t all believe that extreme, but many of us have those moments.

As much as it can seem self-evident that we are an incredible mystery pumping quarts of blood through miles of the circulatory system in our body and replicating millions of cells as you read these words, we resist accepting this miracle as who we are. We’d rather believe in our learned limitations, (not good enough, too old, too young, not smart enough etc.) than be open to this cosmic truth of our being. Thus, we emotionally suffer and often die feeling unfulfilled.

This technique, The Sedona Method, is designed to gently accept those limiting beliefs, then investigate beneath them to see their roots in misunderstandings of who we are. In that brief, but life-changing moment, you let go of those roots to see what happens without holding on, and you suddenly experience a boundless field of possibilities before you and within you. This is the freedom Lester Levenson invited us to see and know.

I invite you to simply experiment and move past the limitations of your mind briefly ~ and open to the possibilities of happiness and fulfillment in this very moment that you read these words.
