Blog: The 900 Year Old Saint and You.

Imagine one morning you awaken. Thoughts of your busy life begin to fill your head. Your eyes slowly open, trying to see through the sleepiness of the morning. You slowly focus on the ceiling, then the wall, then the corner chair.  And there he is, sitting in quietude, in his monks robe, just looking gently in your direction. Then he softly says, "You’re not dreaming. I’m really here." You realize that St. Francis of Assisi is sitting in your home chatting with you. Whether a dream or not, how often do you have this opportunity?

So you settle in. Quietly, he continues, "I realize you have been on a spiritual quest for a long time. How’s it going?" Still trying to grasp that you are talking to a saint from 900 years ago, you reflect upon your life journey and respond, "I’ve had some wonderful moments of profound peace here and there, but I believe there’s something even greater that I will find someday." A gentle and understanding smile crosses the lips of this warm-hearted saint. His eyes radiating a quiet knowingness you have yearned for your entire life.  Softly, he says, "That’s exactly why I’ve dropped by ~ to give you a small hint for this treasure hunt you’re on."  You realize you are about to receive guidance "in person" from one of the greatest sages of history.

Your heart beats a little faster. "Are you ready?" he asks with a playful glimmer in his eyes. You feel a flutter of butterflies in your stomach as his love and care moves your heart. "Yes – very ready", you respond. St Francis pauses a long time, looking at you, the room quiets to an eternal stillness. Time seems to have stopped….There is no future and no past, only now. Then, without fanfare, he says quietly, almost imperceptively, yet with a profound impact as if the words were coming from the source of the Universe itself.

"What you are looking for ~ is what is looking." You pause. Then, just for a moment, your mind stops and becomes acutely aware that what is peering out of your eyes is actually the presence of who you are, unconditioned by your past, unfiltered, just simply aware. The visitor smiles gently as he watches the impact of his simple guidance….And with that soft and timeless smile, you close your eyes for a moment of rest. Upon opening them, you see your new friend has vanished. Or has he? Is it possible that he and his message are placed eternally in your heart?

Perhaps he is right here – as you, the reader, read these words. Perhaps he is inviting you to know, that what you are looking for is actually what is looking at and reading these words in this very moment of your existence. If you are open, this may be what you have been looking for.

Blog: Did St Francis of Assisi walk his talk?

As the valley stretched before me across central Italy, my heart calmed and my stress quieted as I imagined St Francis of Assisi standing next to me atop the very wall I was standing on and saying, "Be still, David and know peace." As I was there in Assisi, I gained a sense of this great teacher who once voiced my favorite quote of my life, "Teach peace wherever you go and in whatever you do. And when necessary, use words."

Back in time, in a life-defining moment, St Francis stood on the battlefield and decided to walk away, against his families hopes for his reputation as a great soldier. He felt an unwavering voice inside telling him to follow peace. He definately walked the talk ~ and with violence and danger all around him.

When Lester Levenson, the creator of the Sedona Method, invites us in his teachings, to be still and know unlimited peace no matter what is going on around us, he wants us to know the peace that St Francis knew. This peace is beyond all worldly concerns. This is the invitation of the Sedona Method. Even amidst your daily trials, learn to easily feel free of anxiety, fear, anger and more.

For more information on how to dissolve anxiety and other emotions, click on The Sedona Method link above. For specifics on when and where you can find the peace that St Francis and Lester speak of click on the Calendar link above.

How to Survive the New Year and These Times of Change:

From 30,000 feet somewhere over New Mexico.

As the New Year comes, how do we gracefully complete and move on from one moment to the next, or to the next day, year, relationship, or job? Mastering change takes courage and an inner conviction to live a joyful life.

With the nearly zero degree weather and my special family holidays fading behind me in Chicago, I approach what’s next for me, teaching in Sedona, AZ. I sit in this back row seat on the plane and move on to what’s next – as all of us have done since we first traveled that long journey from the comfortable yet enclosed womb to this unlimited world outside of our mother’s belly.

Change of any sort can cause minor to major anxiety. Have you ever noticed that change often occurs – then after, we suffer. Or we suffer as we anticipate change. Sometimes the change has already taken place and the degree of suffering we feel is based largely on our longing for what was. This longing or holding onto what used to be is a kind of self-imposed hell we devise for ourselves.

I am not saying change is not challenging, I have lived through my own hellish journeys in my time. What I am saying is that our speed of transition is largely determined by the feelings we feel. More importantly, it is essential to know that feelings can easily be let go of and replaced with a deeper calm and peace, even during these rare times of global and personal change.

Lester Levenson, who created the Sedona Method, predicted these times and heartfully urged us to know who we truly are in order to make it through these days with courage and inner peace. He spoke of who we are beyond our emotional response. He was inviting you and me to let go of holding onto our rollercoaster of emotions and discover the unlimited, capable, peaceful soul that is beneath them ~ in essence, our true nature.

This may seem easier said than done. Yet, thousands worldwide continue to practice letting go through The Sedona Method and living more fulfilling lives. If you’d like to learn to let go easily and live a happier life in all circumstances, register now for a simple two day semimar that can change your life forever. See the Calendar link above for upcoming dates. If you are already a graduate, register for the advanced courses and experience a new level of ease and freedom in every area of your life, even that area that triggers your emotions the most. There is no limit to your freedom.

I look forward to seeing you face to face and supporting you in having a tremendous life.
Don’t postpone this opportunity. The door is open to your inner happiness. Just walk in.
